Welcome from the Executive Headteacher

A very warm welcome to St Mary & St Michael Catholic Primary School.

We are a happy and thriving school community, rooted in our mission statement: "Walking together in the footsteps of Christ." This is at the heart of all we do. Our children are encouraged to live out the Gospel values each day, showing kindness, respect, and joy in their learning. Every visitor to our school sees those values in action.

Both Ofsted and the Catholic Schools Inspectorate (CSI) recognized the strength of our community in their February 2024 reports. Ofsted praised our "ambitious curriculum" and the way staff support children so that "everyone feels included and enjoys learning together". The CSI described us as a “Christ-centred community who joyfully embrace their mission". They noted that pupils participate "enthusiastically and reverently in a wide range of prayer and liturgical experiences".

Our children are well-behaved, happy, and eager to learn. They are supported by a dedicated and welcoming staff team who go the extra mile to help every child succeed and feel valued. We set high standards for all pupils and celebrate their successes in every aspect of school life - spiritual, academic, and personal.

Safeguarding  is our prime concern and so all staff working at St Mary and St Michael Catholic Primary school are committed to safe working practices and keeping our pupils safe.

I firmly believe that the best education happens when home, school, and parish work closely together. We are blessed with strong partnerships with parents and the wider community, and I look forward to working with you to support your child on their journey of faith and learning.
