In the summer term, our Key Stage 2 classes all have the opportunity to go on a residential trip each year. We encourage all children to attend these as they not only provide more learning opportunities outside the classroom but also allow children to experience outdoor activities that they may not get to try too often. Our residential trips aim to offer experiences and activities that develop our pupils' confidence, self-awareness, teamwork, leadership, communication, problem solving skills and independence.
In Years 3 and 4, pupils spend 1-2 nights at Fauxquets Valley Campsite where they get to camp in tents for the duration of their stay. The children have the opportunity to swim each day at the campsite's outdoor pool, visit the animals on site and spend the day at a nearby beach doing various activities such as rock pooling, sand castle making and sea swimming.
In Year 5, pupils spend 2 nights at Rue Maingys Activity Centre where they stay in the onsite hostel. The children have the opportunity to take part in activities on site which may include archery, high ropes activities and den building. They may also have the opportunity to take part in activities nearby such as surfing at Vazon.
In Year 6, pupils spend 3 nights on Lihou in the main house on the island. The children have the opportunity to take part in activities such as scavenger hunts, orienteering, rock-pooling, archery, climbing, abseiling and swimming in the island's Venus pool.
