St Mary & St Michael Catholic Primary

Learning together as we follow in the footsteps of Christ

Our School Prayers

The Sign of the Cross

In the name of the Father, (touch forehead)

and of the Son, (touch chest)

and of the Holy Spirit. (touch each shoulder)

The Lord's Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name;

thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses,

as we forgive those who trespass against us,

and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

The Hail Mary

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now, and at the hour of our death.

Start of day prayer

God we give you all of today,

All we do and think and say.

All our work and all our play,

We want to do it in your way.

In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

End of day prayer

God our Father, we come to say

Thank you for your love today.

Thank you for our families, and all the friends you give to me.

Guard me in the dark of night, and in the morning send your light.

In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Lunchtime prayer (KS1)

Bless us O Lord as we sit together,

Bless the food we eat today,

Bless the hands that made the food,

Bless us O God, Amen.

Lunchtime prayer (KS2)

We give thee thanks Almighty God,

For these and all thy blessings, which we are about to receive through thy bounty,

through Christ our Lord.  Amen,

In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Act of Sorrow

O my God, because you are so good,

I am very sorry that I have sinned against you

and by the help of your grace I will try not to sin again. Amen

Glory Be To The Father

Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit,

as it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be,

a world without end. Amen

Prayer for Serenity

God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,

the courage to change the things I can,

and the wisdom to know the difference. Amen.

I confess to Almighty God, and to you, my brothers and sisters,

that I have sinned through my own fault, in my thoughts and in my words,

in which I have done, and in what I have failed to do;

and I ask blessed Mary, ever virgin, all the angels and saints, and you, my

brothers and sisters, to pray for me to the Lord our God. Amen
